Pastor Corey Cunningham, affectionately known as Pastor Corey, is the founder and senior pastor of The Inspiration Church in Dayton, OH. Pastor Corey has led “Inspiration” in spiritual and numeric growth while having an existential impact in the community. Through Pastor Corey’s leadership “Inspiration” has fed, clothed and provided personal care items to thousands of people in the Dayton area. Also, within the first year of “Inspiration’s” existence Pastor Corey led the church in purchasing their own facility that now is home to the Inspire Me Learning Academy.
Pastor Corey is a member of the West Dayton Caravan of Churches as well as Dayton Ministers United for Social Change (DMUSC). Pastor Corey is also a Chaplain with Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
Pastor Corey was born in Dayton Ohio to Pastor Johnny and Alva Cunningham. He felt God's call on his life at a very early age. As the son of a Pastor he became very active in his home church, Mount Enon Baptist Church (Dayton, OH). He accepted his call to preach God's Word, and preached his first sermon in May of 1998, at the age of 20. For more than twenty years Pastor Corey has preached the love of Jesus. His preaching ministry has taken him across the United States and to Germany. Through modern technology Pastor Corey’s sermons can be heard globally through “Inspiration’s” website and social media platforms.
Pastor Corey is the former Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ridgewood Heights in Dayton, OH. He is also the founding pastor of the Refreshing Springs Church (formerly Rhema Church) in Nashville, TN. He served as Pastor of Christian Education of The Friendship Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. He has taught at the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. Annual Session and the Sunday Publishing Board’s December Conference.
Pastor Corey has served on the Dayton Police Reform Commission. He was a spiritual advisory board member for the Gem City Market as well as a pastoral advisory board member for the Interdenominational Women’s Ministerial Alliance.
Pastor Corey earned the Master of Divinity degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical/Theological studies from American Baptist College in Nashville, TN.
Pastor Corey is married to Stephanie Wise-Cunningham and they are the proud parents of four children, Jon-Fayne, Israel, Zion and Corey.
